Expertise of architectural and landscape projects.
Based on our long-term practice we come to conclusion that destruction of trees on a site is frequently caused by mistakes incorporated in the architectural project itself – digging of a ditch, laying of the foundation, adding of soil, the height of a construction and its orientation on the cardinal points and many other things. Specific places for the house and constructions are chosen out of different reasons of convenience but at the same time they do not take into account specific features of a forest plot, deposition of subsoil waters, a direction of dominating winds etc. Trees react instantly to such indifference by a depression, defoliation, apical shrinkage and as a result inevitable destruction.
In its turn a landscape project as a rule is created without taking into account interests of wood vegetation. A priori understanding that it is desirable to save trees nevertheless landscape architects always create man-made elements of a landscape with great interest since they have specific knowledge and skill and such works are economically profitable - they are clear and well paid. The considerable role in creation of such disastrous projects for trees very often play the owners of a site themselves by insisting on implementation of landscape ideas which come into conflict with necessary conditions of growth of wood vegetation.
It is necessary to note such frequent mistakes of landscape projects as unreasoned lining of communications, digging of tranches and building of retaining walls, creation of ponds, drainage systems, Alpine hills and many other things. Thus it is necessary to understand that a landscape project in paper can be completely not bad and being implemented as they say in "an open country" becomes an ideal example of realization of a designer’s imagination.
But after the works a forest plot arranged under such project can lose the main and most valuable ornament - trees. A peculiarity of such situation is that negative consequences of unreasoned building, engineering and landscape projects affect not all at once but after a long period of time. A year or two - and there is already nobody to make a complaint to.
Therefore we recommend strongly – it is necessary to conduct the expertise of architectural and landscape projects before the beginning of scale works. Experts of NPSA "HEALTHY FOREST" will check up the conformity of architectural and landscape projects to necessary conditions of growth of wood vegetation and will give precise recommendations which will help not only to create the comfortable environment for people living but also to save trees on a site.
